Sight is one of our most precious senses, and the field of Ophthalmology stands at the intersection of delicate surgical artistry, advanced medical therapy, and rapidly evolving technology. As a premier tertiary ophthalmic center and academic hub, our department is dedicated to combating preventable blindness, training elite eye care specialists, and conducting pioneering vision research.

Sub-Specialty Ocular Care: Comprehensive management of complex eye diseases across sub-specialties including Cornea & External Diseases, Retina & Vitreous, Glaucoma, Oculoplastics, Paediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus, and Neuro-Ophthalmology.
Advanced Surgical Interventions: High-precision microsurgical procedures including phacoemulsification for cataracts, corneal transplantation, vitrectomy, glaucoma filtration surgeries, and refractive procedures.
Avoidable Blindness Prevention: Community-focused initiatives and clinical programs targeting major causes of vision loss such as diabetic retinopathy, childhood cataracts, uncorrected refractive errors, and glaucoma.
Ophthalmic Research & Innovation: Clinical trials, epidemiological studies, and technological applications in laser therapy, diagnostic imaging, and visual rehabilitation.
Postgraduate Medical Education: Conducting MS (Master of Surgery) in Ophthalmology, specialized fellowships, and diploma programs to train expert ophthalmic surgeons and academicians.
Outpatient & Emergency Clinical Services: Running daily specialized outpatient clinics (OPD), diagnostic suites (OCT, Fundus Fluorescein Angiography, Visual Field Testing), and 24/7 emergency eye trauma care.
Diagnostic & Laser Services: Providing specialized non-invasive treatments, including YAG capsulotomy, retinal photocoagulation, and advanced ocular ultrasonography.
Surgical Skill Development: Operating wet labs and surgical simulation facilities to provide hands-on microsurgical training for residents and fellows under faculty supervision.
Academic & Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Partnering with Endocrinology, Neurology, Pathology, and Pediatrics for holistic management of systemic conditions with ocular manifestations (e.g., diabetic eye disease, thyroid eye disease).
